Tomorrow, When the War Began
The Aussie teen thriller film Tomorrow, When the War Began is set to be released in select theaters and on demand here in the US February 24. Learn more here. The movie is Red Dawn-esque, but is more than a simple riff on that 1980s cult-classic and is worth checking out if you’re into genera movies.
Seven Australian teenage friends from a small town go on a camping trip to be with nature. During their trip, they see military aircraft fly overhead. What they didn’t know was their country was being invaded by another country. Returning home, they discover that they are at war. With no training, they band together to fight the enemy.
Tomorrow, When the War Began is based on a series of successful books of the same name. I’m sure that the upcoming release of The Hunger Games film, which is also a book to movie series, is responsible for Tomorrow finally being released here in the U.S. as it was released a few years back overseas.
