These specials are great. I’m especially loving BBC America airing a classic Doctor Who episode immediately after the documentary ends. I just wish someone would actually air classic Doctor Who somewhere I could watch it!

It’s been reported that (spoiler alert) current Doctor Who title actor Matt Smith will be leaving the series this winter. It feels as if the current crop of Who actors aren’t spending as much time with the show as old. In terms of episodes, the classic actors filmed more than the modern. But in terms of total series, the time classic and modern Who actors spend with the show is comparable.*

I really dig the title of the upcoming seventh season of Doctor Who; “The Asylum of the Daleks.”

These Doctor Who and Amy Pond action figures are very nice. Very expensive too at around $230 each.

Two classic episodes of Doctor Who – thought to be missing forever – have been returned to the BBC archive.

Episode 3 of the William Hartnell adventure “Galaxy 4” and Episode 2 of Patrick Troughton’s “The Underwater Menace” were purchased by film collector Terry Burnett at a village fete near Southampton in the early 80s. He had been unaware that the canisters contained material missing from the BBC.
