What's New?

What's the difference anyway?
I've posted the first few pages of my attempt to compare and contrast the differences between the movie MISSION TO MARS and the script to the movie.

Did you know that the script featured a launch scene of the Mars 2 crew leaving the Earth and that the Mars 1 astronauts were killed in a different manner? Bet you didn't. 4.14.00

What I'm working on...
Right now, yes even as YOU read this, I'm currently compiling a list of the similarities and differences between the movie M2M and the script to the movie. So far, I've gotten about ten pages of material from the script that either didn't appear at all in the movie or was shown in an altered version.

The most interesting thing that I've found in doing this are the cut scenes from the script. To name a few, there's a launch sequence of the Mars 2 rescue mission from Earth and and extended ending – neither being seen in the finished film.

Look for the start of this material showing up online this weekend. 4.14.00

Really good news after all?
I hate to admit this, but I don't think that I'm going to get the prizes that I won. 4.8.00

Cinefex Magazine
The April issue of CINEFEX magazine features a section about the making of the movie MISSION TO MARS. If you've never heard of CINEFEX before, you really should get to know this magazine. Simply put, CINEFEX is THE magazine about making movies. It features exclusive photos from several movies each issue and effects from those movies. Trust me, if you see this magazine on a store shelf, buy it. 4.1.00

Gary Sinise speaks out
Gary Sinise had something to say about the movie MISSION TO MARS in the last (March 31, 2000) issue of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY:

ACT OUT
"Sometimes you're doing physical things where you're supposed to be looking at something, but it's really just an 'X' on a board. That's acting. I compare it to being in theater where you have to stand on the lip of the stage and see the city on fire, when you're really just looking at the 'exit' sign on the balcony. You pretend, that's a;;."
