Right now, my favorite Weezer song is Mad Kow. I'm not sure why, I just like
it a lot:
I'm watching
And waiting
I'm disintegrating
I know that You'd hear me
If you could come near me
But no one
Can save me now
I'm lost
Just like a cow
Madness burning inside my brain
My brain
I'm falling
To pieces
I'm breaking my leases
I know that
You'd hear me
If you could come near me

We're having a bit of a heatwave here in Northern Indiana. Some would call
call it "Indian Summer". The usual highs for December for my area
should be in the mid 30's. Right now the temperature is 66º.
All I can say is that I'm happier that we're closer to our record high than
our record low (-18º). Brrrr.
The record low for December is -18º. That's a difference of 84º between today's high and the record low.

this movie, but for some reason I'm not. I've never really been interested in
the whole fantasy genera – I've never read a fantasy book or played

About the only movie that's like LOTR that I liked was "Willow", and
it's not all that great.

Apparently,
the Leonids were
amazing this year. Some people reported seeing up to 1000 meteors an hour,
well short of the 100,000 seen in 1966 but still more than the average of 100
or so. Unfortunately, northern Indiana (where I live) was socked in with a thick
layer of fog and I saw no meteors.
Still, seeing the Northern Lights a
few weeks back sure makes up for not seeing the "storm" of meteors.

here's the truth boys and girls... Why must the right always be down on things basically everyone else loves. Like Harry Potter.... Today on television I heard one man say, "Harry is evil, becasue is in not a good hero, he makes poor decisions, and uses magic." So now if you make poor decisions and mistakes, you're an evil person? I thought everybody made mistakes, isn't that what makes us human? Parents, there is a thousand things worse that your children could get into besides Harry Potter, trurt me I know.

Last

An
extremely interesting article on just what it's like to fly a combat mission
over Afghanistan. I didn't know that the jets were being directed to their targets
(somewhat) by "U.S. operative(s) on the ground". Typical military
half logic, though, – the pilots are thoroughly briefed on attacking
one target, only to be diverted to another target with no prior briefing in mid-flight.
What gets me is that these guys are in my age group. People that I grew up with
(conceivably) are out there defending our country.

First of all, I have to agree with Jay. “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” is great. I went with many people who weren’t as familiar with the View Askewniverse as I am (which is to say, disgustingly familiar) and they all enjoyed it. Also, Mo said something about “Iron Monkey” I have to agree with him as well, this film looks interesting. But when I saw the preview, everyone is the theatre was as confused as I was (yes, I did ask them). How seriously are we supposed to take a movie called “Iron Monkey?” Speaking of oriental choreographers and their movies, “The Musketeer” looks equally well done.

I find myself being drawn more and more towards the older computers and operating
systems … for sentimental reasons of course. I remember the first computer
we, as a family, owned. It was a Texas

coding with it – as much as I could do seventeen years ago. Whenever I
get upset at my Macintosh G3 not having enough RAM or a large enough hard drive,
