ILM ROCKS!!!!! 3.13.00

I really enjoyed the movie, tho i thought it would have more action but that alien kind of reminded me of the aliens in close encounters of the third kind. M2M's special fx were handled well by famed spfx company Industrial Light + Magic especially the storm and the black hole. Dltdvd

I just saw the new movie Mission to Mars and boy what a dissapointment! This movie was probably one of the most boring movies that I have seen in a long time. Lots of flash but no substance would be the key here. I was surprised to see that it was directed by Brian Depalma, is it me or has he distanced himself from this movie, usually with a big director like him his name would be promenatly adververtised along with the actors in one of his movies. We snuck into the movie Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp after Mission to Mars and I wish that my money would have gone to that movie because it was excellent. Mission to Mars had so many product placements in it I was surprised that Mars itself didn't have a Hilton on it. What a big waste of time. I tried to like it because Tim Robbins and Gary Sinese are two of my favourite actors. And the end was ripped off directly from the ending of Close encounters of the third kind right down to the alien figure. nelsonmuntz

We liked the movie. This is real science fiction. The reviews by the pretentious film students were very predictable. The space scenes were realistic and the plot held our interest. If you like science fiction as entertainment, you will enjoy this movie. My wife, who is not a fan of science fistion, really enjoyed liked it. Go see it for yourself and ignore the reviews. What a creative use of the phrase "Horse Pucks" 3.12.00

Okay people, am I the only one who feels like whacking DePalma up side the head??! He really deserves it for this pile of horse pucks!!

I am a HUGE Mars fanatic, have been for years. Therefore it really really STEAMS me to see big shot directors screw up a good opportunity to get the general public excited and educate them at the same time! Did anyone notice how M2M managed to avoid any actual examination of the planet itself, you know, all those cool geological features they've been discovering lately?? What's with this ridiculous use of the 'Face' when it's old news that it's only a deformed mesa, etc, etc... Man, it was terrible!! Granted, it looked pretty good. BUT--- well I could rant on and on about how stinky this was ( and believe me I was ready to give one big benefit of a doubt!) but, well lets just say I hope the cast is Red Faced with shame in helping the general public associate a bit more disappointment when gazing at Mars. - Justin (in Vancouver, BC.)

wow. that was singlehandedly one of the worst movies i have ever seen in my life. it was so bad, it was hilarious. in fact, i'm beginning to wonder if it's meant to be making fun of itself and its genre, or if it was just a pathetically written and directed film. either way, know what to expect going into it. otherwise you won't respect yourself in the morning.
