One
more note of interest from the WIZARD WORLD CON in Chicago.
The upcoming movie SLEEPY
HOLLOW, due in theaters this Thanksgiving, is having figures
created by McFarlane toys. McFarlane toys are responsible
for the ultra-cool Austin Powers figures that came out this
Summer. The SLEEPY HOLLOW figures that I saw were "two-ups"
or the figures were twice the scale as the final production
ones.
The "Headless
Horseman" figure, who's supposed to be played by Christopher
Walken, comes with a multitude of extra heads. Although one
of the heads seems to be that of Walken, I was unable to identify
the rest.

I've found
one more little tidbit about the upcoming movie MISSION TO
MARS in the July 1999 issue of CINEFEX magazine. DREAM QUEST
IMAGES, the geniuses behind last Summers hit movie Armageddon
and this Summer's Inspector Gadget, are handling some of the
effects for MISSION TO MARS.
Be sure
to check out my review
of the script for the movie MISSION TO MARS.

More
reports have come out of the WIZARD WORLD convention that
the DOC SAVAGE movie is more and more of a sure thing. The
owner of Graffiti Designs has said that since the movie has
the writer of the SEASHANK REDEMPTION at the helm of the script
it's almost guaranteed that the movie will see film. He also
said that he was interested in producing more DOC SAVAGE merchandise,
he had already produced everything from bronze statues to
T-shirts that tied into the character.
Also,
a source at the PULP CON said that before Arnold Schwarzenegger
was attached to play the role of DOC, RIDLEY SCOTT's production
company had expressed an interest in reviving the character
for the big screen. It seems that his deal fell through some
time ago paving the way for this latest incarnation of the
MAN OF BRONZE.
