Studio Nue co-founder Haruka Takachiho reported on Wednesday that Noboru Ishiguro, the veteran director of such works as Space Battleship Yamato, the first color Astro Boy anime series (1980), The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, has passed away. He was 73.

Although Gaiman and McFarlane’s first meeting in court was on the 1st of October, 2002, nearly ten years ago now, the cause of their dispute goes back nearly ten years before that, with roots set in place some years before that, again. Update — it looks like Syfy had the trailer to the series pulled off of YouTube, and clarified that this new series isn’t a series but instead a movie. Ugh. Am I the only one who hasn’t had a reason to watch Syfy since the original BSG went off the air? A Blood and Chrome series would’ve brought me back, since I can’t stand much of what passes for sci fi on Syfy today.
