Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation have released media for new animated short-form content set to debut this Saturday, August 24th, 2013 during the DC Nation programming block. The animated short “Doom Patrol – Chapter One: Challenge of the Timeless Commander” will make its debut this weekend. The hour-long DC Nation programming block airs Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00am (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network.

The budgets of top-grossing movies over the years

These are a sampling of the budgets of the highest grossing movies over the years. I didn’t realize that Star Wars had such a comparatively low budget, about $41 million in today’s dollars. To put that number in perspective, this summer’s Olympus Has Fallen movie about terrorists at the White House had a budget of around $70 million and the comparable to Star Wars Elysium of around $100. And Elysium is a movie that’s been referred to as having a lower than usual budget for a sci-fi summer movie.

I guess the moral of the story is that budgets keep going up and up and there seems to be no end in sight.
