Movies that won't be released for another half-a-year already have trailers for them. Movies that aren't even finished, yet, are being pushed by the studios. I say this is great. The more that I know about a movie the better. {I'd hate to have to sit through another THIN RED LONG!}

DEEP BLUE SEA

Oddly enough, movie that I had never heard about or had no interest in seeing are looking better and better. The inverse also holds true. Movies that I was really looking forward to see are beginning to look like something that I have no interest in. {I won't be discussing THE PHANTOM MENACE because it needs no discussion. This will be the biggest movie ever and nothing that a trailer could show could/would ever change this}.

I had never heard of the movie THE DEEP BLUE SEA before I had seen the trailer back in November. Now I can't wait to see this pre-Summer movie. It looks like it is an action/suspense filled film that will be well worth my $5. Whoever is handling the marketing on this one is really trying to drum up excitement on this movie by releasing the trailer almost seven full months before the release of the movie, in April.

Another trailer that I've recently seen and am becoming intrigued about, is the movie WING COMMANDER. I had heard a little about this movie beginning last Summer, but had little interest in seeing the finished form before the trailer. Hopefully, this movie will be a SPACE, ABOVE AND BEYOND and not a SCREAM.

However, trailers can have the opposite effect on me. I was really looking forward to the movies INSPECTOR GADGET and THE WILD, WILD WEST, but now am having second thoughts on these movies.

Hopefully, theses trailers are only a symptom of the fact that the movies are going to be released months, seven in the case of the WILD, WILD WEST, after the first trailers hits the streets. Otherwise they're doomed to become another set of extremely poor movies that have little or no qualitative values. 2-22-99
